Mr. Zerwick

Universities and colleges across the country are beginning to think about new programs involving the iPod.

Duke University has implemented a program to give each incoming freshman their own 20 gigabyte iPod as an attempt to integrate technology into the classroom. Professors at the university have been encouraged to provide a recording of their lectures in mp3 format to be downloaded by the students to supplement their notes.

The Drexel University School of Education will distribute the latest iPod Photo Players to incoming education majors. It seems that they are trying to focus on acclimating new educators with the technology that may become much more common in the near future.
According to the school’s director, "Rather than resisting a popular technology because it's popular, we want to embrace that as a way to be more effective in communicating."
